(Lee Co) One person died and one other was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Lee County early this morning.
The Iowa State Patrol says at approximately 12:08 a.m. a 2017 BMW, driven by 24-year-old Josue Alexander Boton Pinula of Middleburg, Florida, was traveling westbound on Highway 16 and failed to obey the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 16 and Highway 218. A 1995 Kenworth tractor and trailer, driven by 68-year-old Paul Douglas White of Patterson, Missouri, was traveling southbound on Highway 218 and struck the BMW as it entered into the southbound lanes.
Josue Alexander Boton Pinula died in the accident. Paul Douglas White was transported to the Henry County Hospital by Lee County EMS.
