(Altoona, IA) — Ag producers are getting ready and making plans for the 19th annual Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit.
Lisa Coffelt, with the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, said, “We are going to do kind of a dive into trade and kind of look at international trade and what that means to the biofuels sector.”
Besides trade, she says a lot of things are top of mind, including transportation.
“And then we’re kind of tossing around potentially talking about heavy duty transportation and how ethanol and biodiesel play a part in that transportation industry,” aid Coffelt.
She says availability of more biofuels, with a stronger blend of renewable sources, may be on the horizon.
“Potentially be 100-percent biodiesel instead of some diesel and some biodiesel, using even renewable biodeisel,” said Coffelt. “It’s exciting, there’s a lot of talk and a lot of new things on the horizon for biofuels.”
The summit takes place on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025 at Prairie Meadows in Altoona. It’s free to attend. Those interested can register early at IowaRenewableFuelsSummit.org. Visitors are expected from at least 12 states.
