(Atlantic) The Atlantic Area Chamber Ambassadors hosted a visit with Chelsie Rush on Thursday, October 24, 2024, to learn about an easy-to-use mobile app, “A Community For Kids,” designed to connect families in the Atlantic area with local events, resources, and opportunities for children.
Chelsie Rush grew up in the Kimballton area, moved away for college, and ended up back in Southwest Iowa with her husband and three boys. After Chelsie had her first child, she quickly found it impossible to keep up with the area’s many events, activities, and resources. In hopes of organizing the information, Chelsie began a Facebook group to help other families take advantage of the opportunities around them. After a few years, Chelsie began researching avenues other than Facebook because information was buried within the page. Through much research, Chelsie found an app creator that could personalize an app to fit the communities’ needs, and with help from regional sponsors, A Community For Kids was born.
A Community For Kids is a centralized place for information on events, activities, locations, and more, approximately 30 miles around the Atlantic area. This FREE digital guide is for parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, babysitters, etc., to find activities that fit their needs, time, budget, and interests. Additionally, it is an excellent place for towns, communities, businesses, and organizations to share information inside and outside their area. The app also features turn-by-turn directions to your destination, multiple sharing capabilities, and the ability to add an event or activity to your calendar on your device. With the holidays approaching, A Community For Kids has everything you need to make this season unforgettable.
