(Des Moines) Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announced illegal voting in recent elections. There have been 87 noncitizens illegally voted, with another 67 registered unlawfully. These actions are classified as Class D felonies, potentially punishable by fines and imprisonment. Pate’s office is referring these cases to the Iowa Department of Public Safety for further investigation. Additionally, the citizenship status of two thousand individuals remains unclear.
