(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County will start working on a project to improve facilities for mental health care in the county. During Tuesday’s Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meeting, Maggie Armstrong announced that the county public health department will receive some funds for an addition to the building for mental health patients.
Armstrong says that the Heart of Iowa has approved $107,000 for the project in Guthrie Center plus two smaller projects in Exira and Stuart. Armstrong any kind of money that they can get is needed

Armstrong says she will serve on a state governing board and will work to make sure Guthrie County is not on the outside looking in for any future funding that might be available.
