(Council Bluffs) Two 16-year-old males are in custody in connection with the October 17th shooting of a 14-year-old in Council Bluffs.
According to Police, after receiving several tips from citizens, the suspects in this case were identified Friday afternoon. Officers were able to take two 16-year-old males into custody without incident last night (Friday, October 18th) at approximately 10:30 pm. Both suspects are Council Bluffs residents. The two suspects face charges of two Counts of Attempted Murder and Robbery 1st Degree.
The incident happened on Thursday evening at around 7:14 pm; Council Bluffs Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to East Pierce Street and South 1st Street for a shooting report. Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year-old male who sustained a gunshot wound to one of his legs. Council Bluffs Fire Department medics transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities transported the two 16-year-old males to the Southwest Iowa Juvenile Detention Center.
