(Dunlap) Dairy Sweet in Dunlap, owned by Lori and Greg Thomsen, has won the title of Iowa’s Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin for 2024, marking its second win since 2005.
The restaurant, known for serving 40,000 tenderloins annually, has refined its recipe by using center-cut boneless pork loins, cut and tenderized in-house.
The Iowa Pork Producers Association’s annual contest received nearly 6,000 nominations this year. Dairy Sweet is the first restaurant to win the title twice in the contest’s 22-year history. They will receive a $500 prize and a plaque.
Ruby’s Bar & Grill of Stuart, is this year’s runner-up. They’ll receive a $250 prize along with a plaque from the IPPA.
The other finalists will receive top five plaques including Bronson Bar in Bronson, Blind Pig in Monticello, and The Market at the Tap in Monticello.
