(Des Moines) State Republicans are criticizing the Iowa Judicial Branch. They are criticizing over misallocated funds caused by IT errors in payment systems. More than ten million were misdirected for various state funds, including road use and victim compensation. House Speaker Pat Grassley accuses State Auditor Rob Sand of failing to alert lawmakers sooner. Sand argues that recent legislation prevents his office from auditing IT issues. Sand claims the money remains in state accounts and labeled the criticism partisan politics. The misallocation stemmed from changes made in the 2020-2021 legislative sessions.
