(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors has decided not to reestablish a Compensation Board.
The state passed a bill to dissolve Compensation Boards effective July 1st. This gave the Supervisors the option to reinstate the Compensation Board or have the Supervisors assume those duties. Compensation Boards annually recommend wages for elected officials.
In other action, the Supervisors approved waiving the deadline and continuing to operate under the terms of the agreement for private development by and between Cass County and KLC Comes, LLC (Bluebird Hill Event Venue). Board Chair Steve Baier said KLC Comes, LLC had met the requirements that were outlined in the agreement for Bluebird Hill Event Venue for the tax incentive program, but there was paperwork that should have been filed at an earlier date.
And, the Supervisors approved the Rural Transit System Joint Participation Agreement with Southwest Iowa Planning Council (SWIPCO) for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
