(Washington, DC) — Time is running out if you filed an extension for your 2023 taxes. Mark Steber, Chief Tax Information Officer at Jackson Hewitt, says you will get penalized if you don’t file by October 15th.
Steber says even if you were due a return, you could have problems, especially at the state level. He adds that he’s seen to many “self-inflicted mistakes” from his clients, so he strongly urges everyone to get your taxes organized, either by yourself or with a professional.
