(Tabor, IA) — An 8 man District 10 title is on the line tonight as CAM visits Fremont Mills, coverage on KSOM.
Both teams have one loss — both to highly ranked teams, the Knights to #2 Lenox and the Cougars to #5 Audubon. Fremont Mills had dominated the series but CAM has won 3 of the last 4 against the Knights. CAM has not played their best football the last two games — a 32-30 Homecoming win over Exira EHK and last week’s 30-28 double overtime win over Sidney. Head Coach Barry Bower says they were still wins and now he expects his team will play better tonight
Fremont Mills has a dynamic running game led by Junior Jonathan Ekpai who did miss a couple of games with an injury but has 411 yards. Junior J.W. Linkenhoker can be a threat as well with 386 yards and Freshman Paxton Campbell is a future star. Bower knows he has a good tackling team, he just needs them to execute
Bower says that the Knights can do more than run it
After losing their starting QB and losing to the Wheelers in week one, Bowers believes there were a lot of people who didn’t believe CAM would be playing for a district title
Fremont Mills was 4-5 last year so this is a turn around season for the Knights. Head Coach Greg Ernster says they are used to games like this
Ernester is impressed with the talent that CAM has
Both teams are 5-1 and winner will be the District #10 champ. Game time is 7:00, pre game 6:30, coverage on KSOM
