(Iowa City, IA) — Iowa is looking to flip the page this Saturday as they host Washington. Last week was a blowout loss on the road 35-7 to Ohio St. but Head Coach Kirk Ferentz has had some distractions this week before the Huskies come to town. RB Leshon Williams and WR Kaleb Brown announced their intentions to not play the rest of the season and enter the transfer portal. Ferentz says its the sign of the times
In the case of Williams, Ferentz says he has not been 100 percent healthy since the spring and has fallen on the depth chart — Kaleb Johnson has taken the opportunity and is currently the second leading rusher in the nation. For Brown, he has fallen behind newcomers True Freshman Reece Vander Zee and Northwestern transfer Jacob Gill who Ferentz says has a tremendous work ethic
This week Washington comes to town — the Huskies played in the national championship game a year ago and lost to Michigan. Then Kalen DeBoer left for Alabama and Jedd Fisch came to Washington from Arizona. Ferentz says Fisch is a coach who wins wherever he goes
4-2 Washington visits 3-2 Iowa, Kickoff at 11am it will be televised by Fox
