(Des Moines) Drought conditions are continuing to expand in much of Iowa. The U.S. Drought Monitor Map released today (Thursday) shows almost 94 percent of the state reporting some level of drought conditions. Most of the state is in abnormally dry conditions with about a quarter of the state in moderate drought, though drought conditions vary by region. A small part of west central Iowa is in severe drought, but areas in southern Iowa remain drought free.
