(Exira, IA) — Some coaches believe in moral victories and some don’t. A moral victory is defined as a defeat that can be defined as a victory on moral terms. Last Friday, Exira EHK almost upset #8 CAM overcoming a 30-8 deficit before falling 32-30. In fact, if you ask Spartans Head Coach Drew Buckholdt, his team should’ve won if his team had not allowed some big plays
Alex Hansen had 8 carries for 51 yards and 2 TD plus 8 receptions for 71 yards while Bryce Brabham finished with 187 yards rushing and a TD plus 10-16 passing for 72 yards. Buckholdt liked what he saw out of his stars and likes the progress Brabham has made in throwing the football
Freshman Blake Nelson was 3-5 throwing for 41 yards and a TD when he came into the game for the injured Brabham and has been coming along at quarterback and Buckholdt has not ruled out using him more in the future
This week Exira EHK hosts Fremont Mills in an 8 Man District 10 matchup
