(Council Bluffs) The Council Bluffs Police Department arrested a second suspect believed to have been involved in the August 29th shooting of a 17-year-old male in Council Bluffs. On Monday, the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force arrested 20-year-old Ethan William Stevenson at his residence in Valley, Nebraska. Stevenson is currently being held in the Douglas County, Nebraska Jail while awaiting extradition to Pottawattamie County on a charge of Attempt to Commit Murder. Authorities say he is the final suspect in the case.
On August 30, the Council Bluffs Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested 19-year-old Isaac James Landanger of Council Bluffs. He is currently held in the Pottawattamie County Jail on the charge of Attempt to Commit Murder.
On August 29, 2024, at approximately 9:30 PM, officers were dispatched to S. 26th St. and 3rd Ave. for a call of shots fired in this area. Officers arrived in the area and discovered that one victim had been shot and was transported to Mercy Hospital before officers arrived on the scene. The initial investigation indicated that a disturbance had occurred in front of 215 S. 26th St. During the disturbance, one subject produced a firearm and fired multiple shots. A 17-year-old male was struck by gunfire and was shot in the chest and the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
