(Harlan, IA) — Last Friday night, Harlan played a very un Harlan like football game, the Cyclones lost 42-0 to Sgt. Bluff Luton now ranked #8 in Class 3A. Head Coach Todd Bladt said there were many injuries and they just came one after another. TE Jozef Rice went down early, there were injuries in the secondary and FB Brody Bendorf also went down. Bladt is not sure when these players will be available again — his main priority this week is to get healthy although there were a handful of uncharacteristic things that went wrong on Friday that need to be addressed
QB Gabe Arkfeld was 12-24 passing for 120 yards and 2 INT while Bendorf led the team in rushing with 6 carries for 45 yards until he had the leave the game. Bladt cannot identify one thing that needs to improve for the offense, it has to be better collectively
Now Harlan enters district play this week after a disappointing 2-2 non district schedule. Bladt says time to flush it and move on
The Cyclones have lost their last two meetings with the Panthers who are 0-4 this season.
