(Anita, IA) — Since week one, the CAM football has been driving fast in the country with the top down and the hair blowing in the wind — on Friday the Cougars cruised to their third straight win with a 62-6 win over Coon Rapids Bayard.
The offense took advantage of a lot of short fields and turned them into touchdowns — QB Makade Paulsen had 11 carries for 96 yards and 3 rushing TD, plus threw just three passes, completed two of them both for scores. Brayden Chester had 6 carries for 60 yards and 1 TD. Meanwhile the CAM defense did not allow a point until a running clock score in the third quarter from the Crusaders. Cougars Head Coach Barry Bower says they got production from both sides of the ball and its getting better as the season goes
The Cougars have gotten production from unlikely sources. Sophomore William Rouse had 3 tackles, all for a loss; sophomore Kason Calhoun had 7.5 tackles, 2 TFL and 1 INT; and Sophomore Kayden Winther had 5 tackles and an interception. Bower says anything they get from this young bunch is a bonus
Overall, the Cougars have rebounded well from their opening week loss to Audubon and Bower says they have improved in many ways just by playing
CAM is now 3-1 on the season — this week they host Exira EHK.
