(Atlantic) The Cass County Library Association (CCLA) will hold a Pizza, Puzzle, & Pub Night: Spooky Edition on Saturday, October 19th at the Venue in Atlantic to raise funds for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Cass County.
The event is a race to complete a 300-piece puzzle, eat a large pizza, and drink 12 bottled or canned beverages. Those who choose to drink an alcoholic beverage should come with appropriate ID. Teams of four can register for $120 and individuals can watch the event for $10. In order to accommodate more teams, two start times are being offered, 5 pm and 7 pm, with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at each. There will be other “puzzle up” opportunities for an extra charge during the event. In keeping with the spooky edition theme, teams that come in costume will earn a free puzzle up. Cash bar will also be open and tips are encouraged.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that sends a book each month to registered children under 5 years old. CCLA raises funds to cover the cost of the books. It takes about $27 to send one child books for one year. There are currently 341 children registered in Cass County.
