(Griswold, IA) — The key to the Griswold volleyball season is their seniors – the Tigers start five of them this year with Gabbie Greiman leading the offense and Addison Adams a key player in the middle. Plus, Marissa Askeland (38 kills) and R’yna Kirchoff (32 kills) have been reliable performers on offense and Joey Reynolds has been solid as the setter with 173 assists. Adams says that this team has stayed close which big reason for their success
Last year, Adams played in the middle but this year Head Coach Jody Rossell has moved her to the right side up front and she says she had to make some adjustments
Greiman is currently leading the offense on the left side with 79 kills. She loves volleyball and says that one of the challenges of the game is when you play offense and suddenly instantly might have to dig out a ball on defense
Last year, Griswold finished 21-11 overall but just 3-3 in the challenging Corner Conference with good teams such as Stanton, Sidney and East Mills all in front of them. Those three teams have been ranked at times this year but Greiman believes the Tigers can make some noise in the conference this year
Griswold will open up Corner Conference play tomorrow at Stanton.
