(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors took no action on the Public Comment Policy agenda item at Wednesday’s meeting. Currently, the Board Chairman asks for public comments at the beginning of the meeting before any action items are discussed. Anyone wishing to address the board is limited to two minutes. The Policy under review would move the public comment period to the end of the meeting. Each speaker would get three minutes to speak, and it would not be recorded.
Supervisor Mark Peterson wants time to think about the proposal.
Supervisor Donna Robinson agreed.
The proposed public comment protocol is being removed from Pottawattamie County. Next week’s meeting will discuss it. A Resolution to establish a County Compensation Board will also be placed on the agenda.
