(Harlan, IA) — Last Friday was more like it. The Harlan Cyclones got back to Harlan Cyclone type football as they ran away from Denison Schleswig 49-7.
The Cyclones got most of their yardage on the ground — 276 total rushing yards with Senior Lukas Francis leading the way with 13 carries for 128 yards and 3 TD. Junior Ayden Redmon added 5 carries for 70 yards and another score. In recent years, Harlan has been more of a throwing team than a running team but Head Coach Todd Bladt is not ready to commit to saying this year is going to be a run dominant team
Through the air, Junior Gabe Arkfeld was 6-9 for 148 yards and 2 TD. Senior Jozef Reisz had 3 catches for 95 yards but it was Junior Dallas McDowell who found the end zone twice, from 25 and 24 yards out on both of his catches
This week, Harlan faces Class 4A Glenwood who is coming of the OT loss to Atlantic 35-34. The Rams have some size up front and Bladt hopes he can match up with them
Harlan is 1-1, Glenwood 0-2.
