(Atlantic) The Atlantic Police Department has been informed of a social media post that threatened the Atlantic Community School district.
Police Chief Devan Hogue stated, “Our agency, along with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, has been diligently working on the situation. We have contacted the Atlantic Community School District to ensure safety precautions are being taken and with the Governor’s School Safety Bureau for assistance with the investigation.
Atlantic Community School District Communications Specialist Emma Maassen sent the following message to parents this morning: “We are aware of the social media threat made to AMS and Schuler. Law Enforcement and Administration are investigating the threat and taking proper precautions to ensure the district’s safety.
More information will be available once they have determined the threat’s credibility.
