(Atlantic) September 11, 2001, is a date of remembrance, when terrorists piloted two planes into the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center, a third crashed into the Pentagon, and a fourth plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. Thousands of innocent people lost their lives.
The Atlantic Elks/Does, and American Legion Post #43 are hosting a 911 remembrance on Wednesday, September 11, at 8:30 a.m. at Atlantic City Park. Leonard Kinney is the American Legion Post #43 Commander.
Kinney says 343 firemen lost their lives, along with law enforcement personnel, paramedics, and EMTS.
Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Kennon will talk about some of the First Responders in the area and some programs and recognize the local First Responder Groups.
