(Oakland, IA) — When practice started for the Riverside football team, Head Coach Darrell Frain did not know who his starting quarterback would be. He started the process with six different guys, then narrowed it to three. As the opener nears, Frain is now down to one and that’s Junior Landyn Schoenrock and Frain says there were a couple of things that made him win the job
Schoenrock’s primary job is to hand the ball to Junior Jaxon Gordon one of the top backs in Class A, let alone District 7. Sophomore Cole Jeppersen will be another playmaker on offense who was the second leading receiver last year and Frain said he has seen some time at tailback too. Up front, Frain is confident that the offensive line will be solid
Defensively, Frain says Senior AC Roller is the go to guy — the Senior had 63.5 tackles last year and he should put up bigger numbers this season
Riverside opens their season Friday hosting West Monona.
