(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued an Excessive Heat Warning for three counties in southwest Iowa. Fremont, Montgomery, and Page counties are under the Warning from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Dangerously hot temperatures reaching heat index values of 110 degrees are forecast for this area.
The rest of southwest and west central Iowa are under a Heat Advisory from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with heat index values reaching 108 degrees.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, avoid the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
