(Corning, IA) — Southwest Valley football has something to prove in 2024.
After three straight playoff seasons, the Timberwolves took a step back last season going 2-6. Junior Wyatt Mendenhall split time at quarterback with Evan Timmerman who has graduated and Head Coach Keegan Longabaugh says Mendenhall is now poised to take over the position full time. After a battle at running back, Longabaugh says that two guys have emerged as the ball carriers — Sophomore Walker Bissell and Junior Cael Hogan
Junior TE Gavin Wetzel lead the team in receptions a year ago and Longabaugh has coaxed one of the basketball stars Alex Morgan to come out for football to line up at wideout. Longabaugh really likes his experienced guys on the offensive line
Overall, Longabaugh wants to see his team to be more physical on both sides of the ball and just do their job
