(Maryville, MO) — Jay Harris was THE impact player for NW Missouri St. football a year ago but he is now a Oregon Duck, leaving via the transfer portal.
So Head Coach Rich Wright has had to go back to the drawing board at the running back position. Harris ran for over 1400 yards and 14 TD but Wright is excited what the running back room looks like, he says the Bearcats just simply have one guy who will carry it 30 times a game
Wide Receiver is another position where NW Missouri St. loses talent — Keshon Griffin (49 receptions, 749 yards, 6 TD) and Trevan Alexander (31 catchs, 441 yards, 8 TD) are both going. Tank Young had 25 catches out the backfield last year but Wright avoided the transfer portal and says they have some internal options that he expects will step up
#22 NW Missouri St. hosts #12 Minnesota St. this coming Thursday to open the season.
