(Atlantic) The countdown to the opener for the Atlantic Football team is now less than one week away. The Trojans went through pre-game warm-up drills on Friday night in preparation for their week zero matchup with Council Bluffs, Jefferson.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the point of emphasis in the preseason workouts is “physicality.”
Coach Brummer is impressed with Council Bluffs, Jefferson’s speed.
Last season, the Trojans passed for 869 yards. Colton Rassmussen, who led the team in receiving yards with 339, is lost to graduation. However, Jarrett Hansen, who caught 14 passes for 227 yards, returns to the lineup. Atlantic’s leading rusher, Dante Hedrington, who ended his senior season one year ago with 681 yards, is gone to graduation. Gavin McLaren, who carried the ball 75 times for 495 yards, returns at fullback.
The Trojans will polish off their preseason workouts next week in preparation for their opener on August 23. The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. on their home field. We will have the broadcast on 95.7 F.M., and live video-streamed on westerniowatoday.com
