(Atlantic) A Nebraska man driving a motorcycle suffered serious injuries in an accident involving several vehicles in Cass County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 80 near the 57-mile marker in Cass County. The motorcycle driver, identified as 60-year-old Anthony Haynes Sr. of Omaha, was injured.
According to the report, an eastbound pilot car for an oversized load pulled into the traffic lanes. A 2021 BMW XI driven by 23-year-old Carly Boss of Clive, Iowa, slowed and pulled over to the left shoulder behind another vehicle doing the same thing. As the BMW slowed to a stop, it was struck by a 2014 Honda CTX130 motorcycle driven by Haynes. A 2021 Chevy Silverado pickup also struck the motorcycle, and a 2024 2500 Dodge Ram pickup struck the Silverado.
Lifeflight transported Haynes to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for Treatment of his injuries.
