(Area) — One of the toughest districts in 8 man football is District 10. It features CAM, the defending district champ, along with East Mills, Exira EHX, Fremont Mills, Griswold, Sidney and Stanton Essex.
The Exira Spartans are losing their quarterback and top running back from a year ago but the Spartans seem to be always tough no matter what. Exira Head Coach Drew Buckholdt hopes his team plays physical enough to contend in District 10
Griswold should be a better team this year after a young Tigers team struggled last year to a 1-8 record. Head Coach Seth Lembke believes the Cougars will still be the team to beat
The Cougars did lose their starting quarterback Chase Spieker to injury but CAM has depth on both sides of the ball — Head Coach Barry Bower knows his team has to be ready with a target on its back
Elsewhere, Fremont Mills returns a sophomore quarterback Sawyer Forney but must replace RB Braxton Blackburn who ran for over 1100 yards last year. Stanton has two way star Jacob Martin returning — last year as a Junior he ran for 662 yards, had 13 receptions and led the Vikings with 52 tackles. Sidney started mostly juniors last year on offense so the Cowboys have experience back. Finally, East Mills has Senior Sheldon Vandenburg on defense who recovered 7 fumbles last year.
