(Audubon)On Tuesday, the Audubon County Board of Supervisors received its annual update from Region XII. This regional planning agency serves governments, individuals, and businesses in six counties and 60 cities in west central Iowa. Audubon County Board of Supervisor Chairman Heath Hanson mentioned that Region XII provides grants, support for businesses, and assistance for area homeowners.
For local governments, the COG offers land use planning, transportation planning, grant writing and administration, housing planning, city services technical assistance, and economic development. Individuals can access the COG’s regional public transit service, housing assistance (rehabilitation and down payment assistance), and local workforce development center partnership. Businesses can benefit from financing for job-creating companies, project development for new and expanding companies, commuter transportation, the Iowa Waste Exchange program in 40 counties, and linkages between education and the local business community. The COG also hosts the local Small Business Development Center Office.
