(Pottawattamie Co) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing this morning on disposing of title or interest in real estate to convey Highway 92 new access rights to the Iowa DOT for the Highway 59 bridge replacement project near Carson.
County Engineer John Rasmussen said this is a DOT project to replace the bridge on Highway 59 over Highway 92.
Rasmussen said the construction of that bridge is going to be a pretty big impact on the county. He noted that he’s not sure what the detour will be at this time.
There were no public comments during the hearing. The Supervisors approved the resolution for the sale of real property and delivery of conveyance to the Iowa DOT, authorized the chair to sign the Access Rights Deed with the DOT, and authorized the chair to sign the Access Control Agreement with the DOT.
The Supervisors then approved setting a bid opening for September 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at the Board of Supervisors Hearing Room for bridge materials.
The bridge is located on Elm Tree Road, just east of L66, southwest of Oakland.
The Supervisors also approved a resolution adopting the Pottawattamie County Hazard Mitigation Plan.
