(Cerro Gordo Co) A Clear Lake teen died following a a two-vehicle accident in Cerro Gordo County Monday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says 15-year-old Jannali Bear Don’t Walk was driving a 2008 Subaru Outback northbound on Hickory Avenue and lost control of the vehicle. The Subaru crossed into the path of a southbound 2024 GMC 3500 pickup, driven by 50-year-old John Furst of Clear Lake. The pickup struck the Subaru.
Jannali Bear Don’t Walk died from injuries sustained in the accident after being transported by Clear Lake EMS to Mercy in Mason City. A passenger, 16-year-old Aali Martinez of Clear Lake, suffered injuries and was transported by Mason City Fire to Mercy Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
