(Area) — The 2024 All State Softball Team has been named by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.
In Class 3A, Atlantic got three honorees — Catcher Lila Wiederstein was named First Team All State; the Sophomore hit an incredible .556 with 4 HR and 48 RBI, she added 11 doubles, 4 triples, 17 SB, scored 57 runs and only committed four errors behind the plate. Senior Pitcher Riley Wood of Atlantic was named 2nd team All State — Wood was the #1 pitcher for the Trojans going 15-8, 3.57 ERA with 107 strikeouts and opponents hit only .227 against her. Finally, Sophomore SS Zoey Kirchoff was named 3rd team All State — Kirchoff hit .429, 9 HR, 57 RBI, scored 33 runs and only committed seven errors at a tough defensive position.
Clarinda had two players selected All-State in 3A — Sophomore 3B Annika Price (.427, 4, 40 ) was selected 2nd team and Junior OF Jersey Knight (.316, 4, 30) was named 3rd Team All-State.

In Class 2A, Audubon was the state runner up and three players were honored All State. Freshman Pitcher Riley Miller emerged as one of the best pitchers in the state and she was selected First Team All State — Miller was 17-3 with a 1.38 ERA and 256 strikeouts, which ranked 3rd in Class 2A. Senior Catcher Jordan Porsch (.345, 3, 38) was a 2nd team All State selection and Senior CF Mattie Nielsen (.365, 3, 17) was named to the 3rd Team All State. Underwood Junior Mary Stephens (.436, 0, 14) was 3rd Team All State selection in Class 2A as well.

In Class 1A, Griswold had four players honored by the Iowa coaches. Senior Pitcher Karly Millikan was named First Team All State. Millikan had a dominating season in the circle for the Tigers, going 22-5 with a 1.15 ERA. She struck out 215 batters in just 151.2 innings pitched and opponents hit a meager .115 against her. Senior 1B Dakota Reynolds (.468, 0, 30) was named 2nd team All State and two players were named to the 3rd team — Junior SS Marissa Askeland (.468, 1, 31) and Senior Catcher Whitney Pennock (.407, 1, 29).
Earlham had 4 players honored — First Team: Junior 3B Haley Glade (.543, 13, 64) who was tied for third in 1A in homers; Second Team: Senior SS Alexis Voss (.423, 1, 44); Third Team: Senior Catcher Katie Jensen (.389, 6, 34) and Honorable Mention: Senior 2B Rowen Fisk (.404, 0, 10). St. Albert, Council Bluffs had Senior CF Katelyn Hendricks (.464, 1, 19) named 2nd Team All State; Senior Catcher Kiera Hochstein (.485, 1, 9, 39 SB) was named 3rd Team All State and Senior 1B Alexis Nami (.337, 3, 13) was named Honorable Mention.
Also in 1A, Riverside had two players selected Honorable Mention: 8th grader Pitcher Peyton Schafer (18-8, 2.91; .352, 4, 28) and Freshman 2B Kayden Schnack (.402, 5, 37). CAM Senior OF Emma Follman (.324, 0, 15) and Coon Rapids-Bayard Senior 1B Breely Clayburg (.333, 1, 18) were also 1A Honorable Mention selections.
