Customers in specific areas are advised to boil water before consumption. The Southern Iowa Rural Water Association is working to lift the advisory after completing repairs and conducting bacterial tests. According to the Southern Iowa Rural Water Association (SIRWA), the water distribution system north of Afton, Lorimor, Thayer, and surrounding areas experienced issues on Thursday night (July 4). As a result, customer accounts ending with numbers 055, 003, 063, or 064 are included in the notice.
