(Guthrie Co) Jotham Arber provided an update on the Guthrie County First Responders Association to the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
Arber said the goal of the First Responders Association is to try and build first responders in each of the fire districts and work with the current services to transport.
Arber said all of these services are voluntary, not paid positions.
He said the big thing they need right now is insurance for the first responders.
Arber said the cost would be about $50 per first responder, per year. He said they have raised around $10,000 to use initially to set up the first responder bags and to fund the insurance. He said they are anticipating having 15 first responders to begin with.
Arber said another thing they are proposing is to help with an annual EMS conference to provide training for the first responders and making it available to anybody who would like to get CEU’s.
The Supervisors approved sending the draft 28E Agreement to the County Attorney for review and then bring it back to the Supervisors for approval.
