(Des Moines, IA) — Des Moines Man was arrested for stealing an unmarked police vehicle. He was charged with first-degree theft and eluding and is held in Polk County Jail. He was seen pulling on the vehicle door handles in the police station parking lot early Thursday morning. After finding the spare key in the door’s pocket, he took off in the unmarked SUV. Police ended the car chase with a PIT maneuver at 23rd Street and Lincoln Avenue. No injuries have been reported.
