(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved an ordinance on Vendor Regulations during RAGBRAI.
The approval followed a public hearing in which there were no comments for or against the ordinance. Supervisors Chair Steve Baier said the purpose of this is to have an ordinance that will help define, clarify permit process fees and vendor locations during RAGBRAI in Cass County’s unincorporated areas. Supervisor Wendy Richter worked on getting this ordinance in place.
Due to a majority vote on the first reading this morning, the requirement for a second vote was able to be suspended in accordance with Iowa Code and the ordinance was approved.
In other news, the Supervisors agreed to earmark $150,000 in ARPA funds toward Vision Atlantic’s proposed Child Development Center. An official resolution and approval will be put on a future agenda.
The board approved authorizing the county Auditor to withhold a TIF rebate over-payment to Elite Octane over two years. Chair Steve Baier explained that this is a continuation to correct an error where an over-payment was made and to recover the over-payment they need to authorize the Auditor to withhold $120,607.
The Supervisors approved a resolution to set Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Appropriations and to authorize transfers. And, they approved wages and salaries for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
