(Atlantic) The Atlantic “SmackDown” Golf Tournament is celebrating its 10th anniversary in August. Over the past few years, the alum tournament has grown from a few teams to over 60, now involving the Atlantic Country Club and Nishna Hills Golf Courses.
Tournament Director Kevin Ferguson says the alum banquet is being added to the weekend festivities at the Cass County Community Building. The event is hosted by the Class of 1979 and the Class of 1984.
On Saturday morning, the 10th Annual “SmackDown” Golf Tournament tees off at 9:00 a.m. Ferguson says teams from 1968 to 2017 are signed up to play. Signup for the Friday night banquet and golf tournament is available on the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce website: atlanticiowa.com. Go to search community events. Ferguson says the Saturday night Concert at the Sunnyside Park Bandstand is open to the public.
Ferguson says the money made from the event is donated back to the community.
Ferguson says that nearly 60 teams participated in the tournament a year ago.
