Ryan Blaney claimed victory in the inaugural Cup Series event at Iowa Speedway on Sunday evening that was broadcast on 96.5 KSOM. Leading a career-high 201 laps. Blaney fended off Kyle Larson to win Stage 1 and outpaced Hendrick Motorsports competitors William Byron and Chase Elliott to secure his first win of 2024 and 11th in NASCAR’s top level.
Byron and Elliott finished second and third, followed by Christopher Bell and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in the top five. The top ten was completed by Joey Logano, Josh Berry, Alex Bowman, Daniel Suárez, and Brad Keselowski.
Kyle Larson, who led 80 laps and won Stage 2, was involved in a wreck early in the final stage after contact with Suárez. The incident also involved Denny Hamlin, resulting in a 34th-place finish for Larson and 24th for Hamlin.
Next, the Cup Series heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
