(Lincoln, NE) – Former Harlan Cyclone and Nebraska starting pitcher, Brett Sears, received Second-Team All-American honors from the ABCA/Rawlings, marking the highest recognition for a Husker starting pitcher since 2003.
Earlier accolades this season include being named First-Team All-Big Ten and Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, with a notable 9-1 record, a 2.16 ERA, and 101 strikeouts across 104 innings. Sears was also a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and ranked nationally in several pitching categories during the 2024 season, solidifying his standout performance for Nebraska baseball.
In 2024, Sears became the first Nebraska pitcher since 2008 to surpass 100 strikeouts in a season, tallying 101 strikeouts, the ninth-highest in program history. He also finished tied for eighth in program history with 104 innings pitched during the season.
