(Des Moines) According to AAA, the price of regular unleaded gasoline fell eight cents to an average of $3.15 across Iowa. This is 22 cents lower than one year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.45, down five cents from last week’s price.
The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $4.21 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $78.30. Brent crude oil rose by $3.97 and is currently priced at $82.34. WTI crude sold for $67.12 one year ago, and Brent crude was at $71.80.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 5 cents this week to a statewide average of $3.49. One year ago, the average was $3.64. The current Iowa diesel price is 30 cents lower than the national average of $3.79.
Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
Natural gas prices rose 28 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $3.01.
