(Cass Co) The Cass County Board of Supervisors approved the second reading of a resolution declaring Emergency Medical Services an Essential Service in Cass County.
The approval followed a public hearing. Bob Reynolds with the Atlantic Fire Department was at the meeting to show his support.

The third reading of the ordinance will be held on June 18th.
In other action, the Supervisors acknowledged the appointment of Sawyer Ocheltree to Sheriff’s Deputy/K9 in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement Wage Rate Schedule at $35.10 per hour and acknowledged the appointment of Cameron Ward to Sheriff’s Deputy position in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement Wage Rate Schedule at $34.08 per hour.
The Supervisors approved the reappointment of Veteran Affairs Commission Member Christine Short for a three-year term through June 30, 2027.
The board also approved the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget Amendment and the Fiscal Year 2025 Employee Group Agreement with Secondary Roads.
