(Atlantic) An Atlantic man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle crash west of Atlantic.
Cass County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jon Westering says the accident happened at 4:53 p.m. on Tuesday on Highland Road just west of 560th Street. Westering says 33-year-old Joseph Schelle was airlifted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center with serious injuries.
Westering says Schelle was leading a group of three motorcycles eastbound on Highland Road when, for unknown reasons, they lost control, left the road, and entered the south ditch. The 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle flipped end over end three to four times, ejecting Schelle from the bike.
The Atlantic Fire Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Atlantic Police Department, Cass EMS, and Unity Point Lifeflight assisted at the scene.
