(Poweshiek County, Iowa) A teenager died, and an 11-year-old was airlifted from the scene of a UTV accident in Poweshiek County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 5:20 p.m. on Saturday, at 230th Street and 450th Avenue southeast of Guernsey. State Police say 13-year-old Nolan Bayer, a passenger, died at the scene. The 11-year-old driver, Sam Schaeffer, was airlifted to the UIHC in Iowa City.
According to the accident report, the UTV traveling south on 230th Street turned onto 450th Avenue, rolled on the driver’s side, and entered the ditch.
The Accident remains under investigation.
