(Audubon) The Audubon School Board approved the low bids for their new bus garage project at Monday’s meeting.
The approval followed a public hearing. Superintendent Eric Trager said they are looking forward to starting construction on the bus garage this summer.
Trager said due to the interest earned on the project money for the High School renovation they have cash to pay for the bus garage project, so there is no tax impact on that.
The Audubon School Board also approved a budget amendment following a public hearing. Trager said after the budget was due, they received a grant to get an electric school bus. So, that was unexpected income, but also an unexpected expenditure to pay for that bus so they needed to amend the budget to account for that expenditure.
The School Board approved a new branding logo and letter.
The School Board also approved sharing Cross Country with Exira EHK next school year; Exira EHK will be the host school.
Meanwhile, Eric Trager said he has been working with Trevor Miller as he transitions to the new Audubon School Superintendent.
Eric Trager taught in the Audubon School District for 23 years, he was the High School Principal for eight years, and served as the shared Superintendent in Audubon School District and Coon Rapids – Bayard School District for the past five years.
