(Audubon) Earlier this week, The Audubon City Council accepted Mayor Robert Malloy’s resignation. Audubon City Officials tell KSOM/KS95 News that the former mayor cited more time with family and other obligations as his reason for resigning.
Malloy ran unopposed for the seat this past November, garnering 288 votes. His term expires on December 31, 2027. The Council tabled further discussion on the matter. However, if the council decides to appoint a replacement, that person would serve until the next election unless the public petitions for a special election.
City Councilman Andrew Grabill is the acting Mayor Pro-Tem during the transition period.
