(Perry) Perry Community School District employees will receive retention bonuses in the fall of 2024 following the school board’s approval of a district-wide agreement. The agreement, passed during Monday night’s meeting, allows for the distribution of up to 700,000 from existing district management levy funds. The bonuses aim to retain educators after a deadly shooting at the high school in January. Superintendent Clark Wicks stated that nearly 680,000 will be allocated among the district’s 310 employees. Under the agreement, employees working 30 hours or more per week will receive a minimum of 2,300. In contrast, those working fewer hours will receive a minimum of 1,300 as a one-time payment.
