(Fort Dodge) An 18-year-old from Fort Dodge has pleaded guilty to reduced charges in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in downtown Fort Dodge last May.
DJ Pettigrew was initially charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder following the incident where 18-year-old Patrick Walker was killed and another individual injured.
In a plea agreement, Pettigrew admitted to voluntary manslaughter and intimidation with a dangerous weapon. He faces up to 20 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for June 7.
The case of a second individual arrested in connection with the crime remains active in the courts.
