(Omaha) On Monday, May 6, three Tornadoes swept through a portion of southwest Iowa. The National Weather Service in Omaha has released information on these Tornadoes.
The first Tornado touched down near Glenwood in Mills County at 8:48 p.m. It was 250 yards wide and had wind speeds of 110 miles per hour. The tornado was rated an EF1, traveled northeast for 5.66 miles, and lifted at 8:55 pm.
The second tornado touched down near Carson and Macedonia at 9:07 pm. It was 200 yards wide and had 93 miles per hour wind speeds. This tornado was rated an EF1 and traveled northeast for 1.53 miles.
The third tornado touched down east of Minden and Shelby at 9:13 pm. It was 450 yards wide and had 110 miles per hour wind speeds. This tornado was rated an EF1, traveled northeast for 4.05 miles, and lifted at 9:19 pm.
